Ken Mellons

Ken Mellons (* July 10, 1965 in Kingsport, Tennessee) is an American country singer.

Ken grew up in Nashville and came naturally early country music in touch. His musical career started already as a student. Whenever the opportunity arose, he took part in talent competitions. Later, he worked his way up in the local club scene. A small first success came in 1987, when he was able to prove competition although no Front- place in the prestigious " You Can Be A Star ", but was personally encouraged by Keith Whitley, who sat on the jury to continue.

There was a four-year commitment to the Opryland amusement park. Here he was discovered for the Grand Ole Opry. Producer Jerry Cupit took notice of the young talent early nineties and in 1992 gave a recording contract with Epic label.

Career

Jerry Cupit Mellons produced debut album Ken Mellon in the same year. A song out of it, the catchy song Jukebox Junkie, held for weeks at the top of the country charts and became his flagship. More uncoupled singles reached only moderate hit parade placements. In 1995 he released his second album When Forever Begins, but the poorly sold and no hits spawned. He moved a little later to the Curb label. Here, however, could be produced within six years not a standalone album. In 2001, only a dubious "Best Of" album was released, which contained newly -established old material. Only in 2004, he managed to terminate the contract to the Home label to try a new start.
