Ken Yaremchuk

Ken Yaremchuk ( born January 1, 1964 in Edmonton, Alberta ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who played from 1983 to 1989 for the Chicago Blackhawks and Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League. His older brother Gary is also a former NHL player.

Career

Ken Yaremchuk began his career with the Portland Winter Hawks, for whom he played in the Western Hockey League from 1980 to 1983. During this time he was selected in the first round during the NHL Entry Draft in 1982 as the seventh player from the Chicago Blackhawks, for the three years he played in the National Hockey League. In addition, he was seven times used with the Milwaukee Admirals in the International Hockey League. On September 6, 1986 it undertook the Toronto Maple Leafs along with Jerome Dupont and Chicago's fourth- round choice right in the NHL Entry Draft in 1987, as the Blackhawks previously Toronto's Gary Nylund had committed as a free agent.

Internationally

With the Canadian national team Yaremchuk participated at the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary in 1988, where he came eight times to insert and six points scorer scored, including three goals. In addition, he played between 1987 and 1993 more caps for his country.
