Kenji Oiwa

Kendi Oiwa (Japanese大岩 ケンヂ, Oiwa Kenji, born 1978 in Gunma Prefecture, Japan) is a Japanese manga artist.

His editor found him drenched near Ochanomizu on the street and bought him a coffee. He then worked for the Kadokawa Shoten - Verlag. His debut work was the advertising Manga Step and Step to the game Tokimeki Memorial 3 in the manga magazine Shōnen Ace 3/2002, for which, among other things Yoshiyuki Sadamoto and CLAMP have also worked. Followed in 2003 with Goth his first ongoing series. Goth, that of a young outsider who is fascinated by the hand of a classmate, is, is an implementation of the eponymous best-selling novel by Otsuichi and in June 2004 published by Egmont Manga and Anime in German translation. From 2004 to June 2007 Oiwa NHK ni Yokoso worked on! based on a novel series by Tatsuhiko Takimoto and was very successful in Japan. The manga about a hikikomori was implemented by the animation studio GONZO as an anime series.

The artist is married to the mangaka SAA since 2004.
