Kennedy Professor of Latin

Kennedy Professor of Latin is the title of the holder of the chair of Latin Philology at the University of Cambridge. It was donated in 1865 by former students and friends of the rector Benjamin Hall Kennedy to retirement. Kennedy even took part with 500 pounds of the Foundation, subject to the condition that the chair would not be named after him. The third professor Alfred Edward Housman, the chair was named after Kennedy in 1911 anyway.
