Kennel Bach is an Austrian municipality with 1886 inhabitants (December 31, 2013) in the district of Bregenz in Vorarlberg.

Geography

The community is located south of Lake Kennel Bach to 430 meters. 54% of the area is forested. There are no other cadastral in brook kennel.

History

The Habsburgs ruled the areas in Vorarlberg changing of Tyrol and Further Austria from ( Freiburg im Breisgau). From 1805 to 1814, the town belonged to Bavaria, then back to Austria. For the Austrian state of Vorarlberg Kennelbach heard since the foundation in 1861. During the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century the place was strongly influenced by the industrialist Schindler family and their 1968 abandoned cotton mill. Former home of the Schindler family, the villa Grunau, since 1992 part of the municipality and is the seat of the municipal administration. The place was from 1945 to 1955 part of the French zone of occupation in Austria.

Policy

Mayor Hans Bertsch ( from Reinhard Hagspiel ) since October 1, 2008. The municipal council consists of 18 members. It is composed of 14 mandatary of the ÖVP, 3 mandatary of the list together for Kennel Bach and one deputy of the Freedom Party and the Independent Kennel Bach.

The municipality revenue from taxes and other charges in 2001 were at € 2,361,184, the municipal expenditure at € 3,333,885. The debt was 2001 1.657.068 €.

Economy and infrastructure

At the site there were in 2003 33 companies in the industrial sector with 955 employees and 27 apprentices. Taxable wage -employed, there were 863 tourism and tourism are major sectors of the economy.

Established businesses

The world famous ski and tennis racket manufacturer HEAD, including the ski manufacturer of Bode Miller and Hermann Maier. The company SUFAG that manufactures snow cannons. Since 2008, the former building of the bow aluminum is reactivated. The production hall is used for part of the production since the summer of 2008 from the international automotive supplier Faurecia. The office building is being completely renovated and inhabited from 24 July with about 135 employees of the international logistics company Gebrüder Weiss.

Traffic

Kennel Bach is located on one of the two major approaches to the Bregenz Forest, the Langen Road ( L 2).
