Kenneth C. "Jethro" Burns

Charles Kenneth " Jethro " Burns ( * March 10, 1920; † 4 February 1989) was an American bluegrass and country musician.

Burns began playing the mandolin at age six. For an amateur competition of the radio station WNOX in Knoxville in 1932, he learned, Henry Haynes know. The two twelve year olds were on a job as a studio musician and formed a duo that afforded pop songs on comedic way. They appeared as Homer and Jethro for 39 years in radio broadcasts on until Haynes died in 1971. In the following years, Burns came with its own jazz ensemble, the Jethro Burns Quartet, on, also with his brother Chet Atkins and the folk singer Steve Goodman. Burns died in February 1989 from prostate cancer. 2001 Homer and Jethro were added to the Country Music Hall of Fame.
