Kenneth H. Tuggle

Kenneth Herndon Tuggle ( born June 12, 1904 in Barbourville, Kentucky, † February 17, 1978 in Louisville, Kentucky ) was an American politician. Between 1943 and 1947 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Kentucky.

Career

After studying law and qualifying as a lawyer Kenneth Tuggle began in Barboursville to work in this profession. He also worked in the banking industry. Between 1934 and 1953 he served as president of the Union National Bank of Barbourville. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Republican Party launched a political career. In 1939 he ran unsuccessfully for the office of Attorney General of his state.

1943 Tuggle was elected to the side of Simeon S. Willis for Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky. This post he held 1943-1947. Yet he was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. In the years 1948 and 1952, he participated as a delegate to the Republican National Conventions relevant. From 1953 to 1975 he was a member of the Interstate Commerce Commission. Tuggle was also a member of several legal associations. He died on February 17, 1978 in Louisville, and was buried in Barboursville.
