Kenneth John Conant

Kenneth John Conant (* 1894 in Neenah, Wisconsin, † 1984 in Bedford ( Massachusetts)) was an American art historian. His main point was the architecture of the Middle Ages.

Conant studied at Harvard University and in Europe. He served in the U.S. Army and taught at Harvard from 1920 up to and including 1955. Conant's life theme was destroyed during the French Revolution the abbey of Cluny, near Macon. He looked at Cluny "the greatest architectural achievement of world history " and led there from 1927 to 1950 excavations. His main work is considered Carolingian and Romanesque Architecture 800-1200 (1959).
