Kenny Loggins

Kenneth Clark "Kenny" Loggins ( born January 7, 1948 in Everett, Washington) is an American singer, guitarist and songwriter.

Life

Kenny Loggins, was born in Everett, Washington and grew up as the youngest of three brothers. Because of his father's profession, the family moved several times, from Washington to Detroit and back, and finally to Alhambra, a suburb of Los Angeles. Loggins went to a Catholic school, where mostly he found his talents in sports and music. The basic principles of singing he learned from his middle brother Dan and later play the guitar. In high school he played with in many school plays as well as organized talent shows.

Kenny Loggins is married and has four children.

Career

Loggins began his musical career in the early 1970s. Together with singer and songwriter Jim Messina, who originally wanted to support Loggins as a solo artist, he joined up in 1976 as a duo. Their albums were in the United States two golds and five times platinum and in many other countries around the world other awards. Best-known, common hits were Danny 's Song and Your Mama Do not Dance.

1977, Loggins released his first solo album Celebrate Me Home with his first big hit I Believe In Love. A year later appeared Nightwatch, on which he sang, among others, a duet with Stevie Nicks, the singer of Fleetwood Mac, the Top 10 hit Whenever I Call You " Friend". In the 1980s, Loggins caught attention mainly through several movie soundtracks. To the film Caddyshack in 1980 he contributed the song I'm Alright on. The song Footloose, received an Oscar nomination for the Loggins, was his biggest hit and made him known worldwide. Meet Me Halfway from Over The Top was an equally popular hit, as Danger Zone and Playing With The Boys from Top Gun. Appeared in 1982 with Welcome to Heartlight one of his most famous tracks. In 1985 he was involved as a member of USA for Africa in the development of single We Are the World.

The articles published in this period albums were always in the shadow of which he produced soundtracks, so he concentrated at the beginning of the 1990s, again more to work on their own albums. A DVD and a CD, recorded at a concert in Loggins ' hometown of Santa Barbara, reflect the joy of playing back existing between the two musicians.
