Kenora District

The Kenora District is an administrative district in the northwest of the Canadian province of Ontario. Capital is Kenora. Its population is 57 607 (2011), area 407,213.01 km ², which corresponds to a population density of 0.1 inhabitants per km ². The district was formed in 1907 from parts of the Rainy River District. It covers 38 % of the area of the province, is larger than Germany and almost as big as California. The area north of the Albany River, which is sometimes referred to as Patricia Portion, in 1912 came to Ontario.
