Kent-Erik Andersson

Kent -Erik Andersson ( born May 24, 1951 in Örebro ) is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey player who was active among other things, for the Minnesota North Stars and New York Rangers of the National Hockey League in its active from 1970 to 1986.

Career

Kent -Erik Andersson began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of the Örebro IK, for the first team, he made his debut in the then second-rate Division 2 in 1970/71 season. Then the attacker played six years for the first team of Färjestad BK, initially in Division 1, and from 1975 in the new top division in Sweden, Elitserien. With his team, he failed in 1976 and 1977 two consecutive times in the playoff final championship. In the 1976/77 season he was also awarded the Guldpucken player of the year.

Then joined the national team to the Minnesota North Stars in the National Hockey League, for whom he was a total of five years from 1977 to 1982 on the ice. In the following two seasons, Andersson has performed with the New York Rangers in the NHL. He then let his career end with his former club Färjestad BK, with whom he was Swedish Champion at the end of his career in 1986.

Internationally

For Sweden, Andersson participated in the World Championships in 1977 and 1978, and in 1981 at the Canada Cup in part. Overall, he played 25 international matches in which he scored nine goals and had two assists. In addition, he received twelve penalty minutes.
