Kent Johanssen

Kent Johanssen (* June 30, 1970 ) is a former Norwegian ski jumper.

His first success landed Johanssen with the silver medal in the team event at the Junior World Championship in 1988 in Saalfelden. He started on March 5, 1989 for the first time in the Ski Jumping World Cup. When jumping at Holmenkollen in Oslo, he jumped it with the 3rd place on the podium for the first time. After he won the gold medal on the large hill at the Junior World Championship in 1989 in Vang shortly thereafter and reached the bronze medal with the team, he also won the bronze medal in Steinkjer at the Norwegian Championships on the large hill. In the last competition of the season in Planica he was again on the podium, reaching number two his highest placing of the career. In the end, he finished in 21st place in the World Cup overall standings. The following 1989/90 season started with poor results in Thunder Bay and Lake Placid. Also in the Four Hills Tournament 1989/90 he remained with No. 33 back in the touring Appreciation expectations. Only in Örnsköldsvik in March 1990, he jumped with eighth place back in the top ten. A short time later he won the silver medal in the large hill at the Norwegian Championship in Gjøvik. The World Cup season 1990/91 started as well as the pre-season with poor results. Despite this he was nominated for the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1991 and won in Val di Fiemme surprising silver medal on the normal hill. Shortly after, he also won in Rognan at the Norwegian Championships, the silver medal at large and normal hill.

Since he could then not achieve more successes in the World Cup, Johanssen launched between 1993 and 1996 in parallel in the second-class Continental. In 1994 he won in Vegårshei again the silver medal at the Norwegian Championship. For the 1996/97 season he jumped again exclusively in the World Cup, but finished after another unsuccessful season, his active ski jumping career.
