Kepler-37

Kepler -37 is an approximately 210 light years from Earth distant star. The star is located in the constellation Lyra and is slightly smaller than the sun.

The Kepler space telescope three planets were discovered orbiting him.

Planet

Kepler -37 b is only slightly larger than the moon, but smaller than the planet Mercury. So that it has approximately one third the diameter of the earth. It orbits its star at a very short distance (approx. 0.1 AE). Currently (2013 ) it is the smallest known exoplanet.

In the planetary system to Kepler -37, there are at least two more exoplanets. Kepler - 37c running in a further outer orbit around the central star and is slightly smaller than Venus.

Even further out is Kepler - 37d, which is twice as large as the Earth. His distance from the central star is probably too small to be in the habitable zone.
