Kepler-Kessel

The Kepler - boiler is the student newspaper of the Kepler -Gymnasium in Ulm. It has been published since 1947 continuously every year (usually just before the summer holidays ) and is thus regarded as one of the oldest student newspapers in Germany.

Naming

The name Kepler - boiler is due to Johannes Kepler, which moved in 1627 to Ulm to there finish his later famous Rudolfine Tables and print. During his stay in Ulm Kepler unified at the request of the City Council through a variety of measurement systems to a binding " Eimermaß ", which became known as Kepler boiler.

Editing

Currently there are ten editorial staff members from grades 5 to 13 and an editorial supervisor from the faculty at the school newspaper. They meet once a week to discuss current issues and practices, and to write articles. Each member also automatically continues at home when needed.

Finances

The Kepler - boiler is self-financed by advertising revenue and the sale proceeds and is thus independent of education or city funds. He is printed for several years depending on the editorial decision in DIN/A4 or DIN/A5, the A5 spending normally cost 50 cents and the A4 expenditure for one euro are to be had.
