Keratella cochlearis is a species in the genus Keratella from the strain of rotifers ( Rotifera ). The name ' facet rotifer ' refers to the multi-split Lorica ( armor ). The rotifer is planktonic widespread in lakes and in the marine environment. As described by Robert Lauterborn, shows K. cochlearis cyclomorphosis: In the summer can be found in lakes unbedornte, in autumn and spring spined forms.
