History

From 7 to 24 July 1920, the World Zionist Congress was held in London. At this congress, Keren Hayesod was officially founded on 24 December 1920. The resolution adopted called on the Jewish people, the Zionists and non- Zionists to help build the land of Israel with the help of Keren Hayesod. Jewish communities around the world have often proclaimed their own collection campaigns under the auspices of Keren Hayesod with local names (UIA, UJIA, IUA, CJA, AUJF ).

By arrangement with the Jewish Agency for Israel ( JAFI ) Keren Hayesod is one of the three founders (together with the World Zionist Organization and the United Israel Appeal in North America, a subsidiary of the Jewish Federation North America ) and represents 20 % of the representatives of the Board of Trustees and Assembly. Keren Hayesod also has four seats on the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Agency.
