Kerion

The kerion (also kerion Celsius, according to Aulus Cornelius Celsus ) is a knob-like, raised, severe inflammation of the skin in dermatophytosis. It represents the maximum form of dermatophytotischen symptoms and is only observed in infections with non-adapted to the host dermatophytes, such as zoophilic pathogen in humans, usually with tinea capitis.
