History

The first mention of Kerkau was held in 1366, which the district Lübbars 1375th

Due to a change in the contract area, the municipal council of the municipality Kerkau decided on 29 May 2009 that the church Kerkau is incorporated into the city Arendsee ( Altmark). This agreement was approved by the county as a lower municipal supervisory authority and entered into force on 1 January 2010.

After incorporation of the previously autonomous municipality Kerkau were Kerkau and Lübbars districts of the city Arendsee ( Altmark). For powered finished my community the village constitution according to § § 86 et seq Municipal Code Saxony -Anhalt has been introduced. The municipality is my finished Kerkau and future districts Kerkau and Lübbars were the village of receiving city Arendsee ( Altmark). In the eingemeindeten community and nunmehrigen village Kerkau a Ortschaftsrat was formed with five members, including mayor.
