Kerkythea

Kerkythea is a freeware standalone render engine that supports raytracing and global illumination. She works with physically accurate materials and lights. The target of Kerkythea is to simplify the process of quality renderings by the tools for automated scene configuration as render settings editor, material editor and real-time 3D processing are united under a single interface.

History

The development of Kerkythea application began in September 2004, although at that time was invested in it still rather little time. This was built on the core and the program libraries of Phos, an older render engine, so that a large part of the code was already tested and well structured.

A little more than half a year later, in April 2005, the first version of Kerkythea was completed. At that time it was only a Windows version, in October, the first Linux version was released.

Main developer of the software is Ioannis Pantazopoulos.
