Kerrie Meares
Kerrie Meares ( born September 4, 1982 in Blackwater ) is a former Australian track cyclist.
1999 Kerrie Meares Vice World Champion in the Junior 500m time trial; In 2000, she became Junior World Champion. Since then she has won many national titles and international titles in short-term events on the track. Only eight times she took first place at Commonwealth and Oceania Games time trial, Keirin and Sprint. Multiple they also became Australian champion in short-term disciplines, most recently in 2009 in the keirin and Emily Rosemond in the team sprint; overall they won eight national titles. In 2010 she resigned from power cycling.
Participation by Kerrie Meares at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens failed due to a herniated disc.
Kerrie Meares is an older sister of the track cyclist Anna Meares, who came to cycling through the example of Kerrie.
