Kerry Conran

Kerry Conran ( born November 6, 1964 in Flint, Michigan ) is an American film director. His first work was "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow " for which he also wrote the screenplay.

He grew up in Flint, without knowing the other filmmakers from there, Michael Moore. He received his education at the California Institute of the Arts ( " CalArts " ) in Los Angeles. Even there he was interested mainly for digital effects. He tried to create (Electric Image for 3D effects, Photoshop and After Effects ) his first film on an Apple Macintosh IIci.

He worked four years at a 6 -minute-long clip, the producer Marsha Oglesby which accidentally got to see. She spoke out with producer Jon Avnet, who was immediately enthusiastic. Together with Jew Law, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie were both able to secure the financing of his directing debut.

It is the first film that has arisen in the total blue-box method. A total of 29 shooting days were sufficient, because most of the work was the creation of computer generated film constituents. The film cost an estimated 70 million dollars.
