Kerry Saxby-Junna

Kerry -Anne Saxby - Junna (born Saxby, born June 2, 1961 in Ballina ) is a former Australian race walker. It belonged since the late 1980s until her Karrieende 2001 on top of the world and is one of the most successful Gehsports Australian track and field athletes in history.

She celebrated her first major international success at the World Athletics Championships 1987 in Rome by winning the silver medal in the 10 km walk behind Irina Strachowa. 1989 Saxby won the title over 3,000 m at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Budapest and was second over 10 km at the World Cup of skiers in L' Hospitalet de Llobregat.

After her victory at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland, 10 km Go in 1991 behind Beate Anders second over 3000 meters at the World Indoor Championships in Seville and Fifth over 10 km at the World Championships in Tokyo. At their first 1992 Olympics in Barcelona she placed fifteenth place in the 10 km walk.

In Toronto in 1993, she was at the World Indoor Championships Second again over 3000m, this time behind Jelena Nikolaeva. In 1994 she defended at the Commonwealth Games in Victoria her title in the 10 km walk. About the same distance they reached at the World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 1995 and the ninth at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta twelfth place.

After she had in 1997 filed a maternity leave, she went to work in the following year by winning the silver medal in the 10 km walk at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur back.
