Kerugoya

Kerugoya is a city in Kenya. It is the capital of Kirinyaga District in the Central Province.

Location

Keruyoga located 10 kilometers east of Karatina and 40 kilometers west of Embu on the road connecting C 74 of Karatina and Kutus. The border to Mount Kenya National Park in the north is about 7 km away.

Political Structure

Kerugoya forms a common administrative unit with the community Kutus with the name " community Kerugoya / Kutus ". Live in the municipality, according to Census 1999 39.441 inhabitants. The community has six districts: Kerugoya center, Kerugoya -Nord, Kerugoya -South, South - Kutus, Kutus center and Nduini. Most of these districts belong to Kerugoya / Kutus - constituency. Kerugoya is also the seat of the Central Division of Kirinyaga District.
