Kevin Curren

Kevin Curren ( born March 2, 1958 in Durban ) is a former South African tennis player.

In his career he won at Grand Slam tournaments four doubles titles and also stood twice in the finals of a manor Single Page.

Curren lost at the Australian Open 1984 final against Mats Wilander in four sets. In Germany he is remembered by his defeat in the final of Wimbledon in 1985. He defeated Boris Becker with 3:6, 7:6, 6:7 and 4:6, although he played the best tournament of his career and the American John McEnroe, then had the number 1 in the world, and Jimmy Connors defeated finalist in 1984. There was also a victory over Stefan Edberg in the second round.

In his career he won a total of five individual titles and 26 doubles titles. His highest world ranking in singles was ranked fifth

In April 1985, he took the U.S. citizenship.
