Kevin Hatcher

Kevin Hatcher ( born September 9, 1966 in Detroit, Michigan ) is a retired American professional ice hockey player who during his playing career for the Washington Capitals, Dallas Stars, Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes in the National Hockey League on the played position of the defender. His younger brother Derian was also active in the NHL.

Career

Kevin Hatcher began his career in 1983 at the North Bay Centennials in the Ontario Hockey League and was two years for the crew actively. Already there he fell on mainly due to its offensive strength and brought it in 125 games to 112 points. Hatcher was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1984 by the Washington Capitals in the first round to 17th position. In the 1984/85 season he ran in three NHL games for the Capitals and scored a goal.

Just one year later, the Americans became an important player of the team and qualified again with the team for the play-offs. In ten years with the Capitals, he qualified with the team always for the play-offs, but never got beyond the second round. In 1994, he left the capital city and went to the Dallas Stars. Also there were his successes modestly, once succeeded in gaining the final round, where again in the first round was over.

There were other stations in the Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes. 2001 ended Hatcher after 1275 NHL games of his career. In 2010, he was just like his brother Derian added to the United States Hockey Hall of Fame.
