Kevin Lynch (hunger striker)

Kevin Lynch ( born May 25, 1956 in near Dungiven, County Derry; † August 1, 1981 in Prison Maze Prison ) was a member of the INLA and hunger striker.

Kevin Lynch grew up as the youngest of eight children near Dungiven in County Derry, Northern Ireland.

In 1976, Kevin Lynch of the INLA and was arrested a few months later in the wake of an attack on the RUC units. For his activities in the INLA, he was sentenced in December 1977 to a ten -year prison sentence, after which he was during his detention immediately joined the blanket protest.

On May 22, 1981, Kevin Lynch joined the hunger strike of 1981 about Bobby Sands, as a result he died after 71 days.

After the Lynch Hurling Club is named from Dungiven.
