Kevin Lyttle
Kevin Lyttle ( born 14 September 1976 in the Caribbean island of St. Vincent ) is a soca musician who mainly through his hit Turn Me On, with whom he in the UK at number one on the charts and in other European countries in the top Ten was, was known.
Career
Lyttle founded during the high school with some classmates, the group Suade and had through the song for the closing party first success. After Suade had recently disbanded after the end of high school, to Lyttle wrote for the subject Electrical Enginieering one at college. He then worked as a radio announcer, karaoke singer and MC, until he got a permanent position at the customs authority.
For the Caribbean Carnival 2001 Lyttle produced at his own expense two songs - including a song called Turn Me On. His haunting, influenced by the hip-hop and rhythm and blues live performance of soca music made known the piece in the entire Caribbean.
After these initial successes followed a short time later appearances in the U.S., where Lyttle was taken at his record label Atlantic Records. Turn Me On continued its success in Europe, first in smaller clubs in the United Kingdom continue; in 2003 the hit appeared as a single. Already after two weeks it reached the second place in the charts and stayed 10 weeks in the top ten. Later it came to Finland at number one in Australia and number one in 12 other European countries, including Germany, in the top ten. 2004 appeared the single in the U.S. and MTV sent the video premiere. Another international success came to him with the follow-up single Last Drop.
The first album of the artist was released in 2004 and had reached number one on the U.S. album charts in August of the same year.
