Kevin Mulligan

Kevin Mulligan ( born June 23 1951 in Shifnal, Shropshire, England) is an Anglo- Irish philosopher. Since 1986 he has been Professor of Philosophy at the University of Geneva. He has influenced the development of philosophy in Switzerland significantly.

Life

Kevin Mulligan studied at Cambridge and Tübingen. In 1975 he received his PhD in Manchester with the work " Representation and Ontology in Austro - German Philosophy". Since 1986 he is full professor at the University of Geneva. He was a visiting professor at numerous universities. Among his students Eros Corazza, Jérôme Dokic, Christine Tappolet, Benjamin Schnieder and Fabrice Correia. Mulligan is co-founder of the European Society for Analytical Philosophy ( ESAP ).

Services

Kevin Mulligan is working on the fields of epistemology and ontology. Done particularly well known have him his thoughts on truth-makers ( Truth Maker). Mulligan is one with his colleagues and friends Barry Smith and Peter Simons to the Anglo-Saxon philosophers who have made outstanding contributions to the Austrian roots of analytic philosophy appreciation.
