Kevin Schmidt (ice hockey)
Kevin Schmidt ( born February 14, 1986 in Markham, Ontario ) is a Canadian- German ice hockey player who is since 2011 in the Hamburg Freezers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga under contract.
Career
Kevin Schmidt began his career as a hockey player with the St. Michael's Buzzers, for by 2005 he was active from 2002 in the Ontario Junior Hockey League. Then the German / Russian / Canadian compatriot visited four years the Bowling Green State University, for their hockey team he played in parallel in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. In the 2009/10 season the defender for the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL made his debut in professional hockey. In 50 games he scored it 30 points scorer, including seven goals. In the season 2010/11 the Canadians played with a German passport for the Hannover Indians in the 2nd Hockey League. There he was able to convince, and also scored in a total of 48 games 35 points scorer, of which eleven goals.
For the season 2011/12 Schmidt was engaged by the Hamburg Freezers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.
