Kevin Westgarth

Kevin Westgarth (born 7 February 1984 in Amherstburg, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is currently with the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League contract. His brother Brett was also a professional hockey player.

Career

Kevin Westgarth began his career as a hockey player at Princeton University, which he attended from 2003 to 2007 while he was playing in parallel for their hockey team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. On 16 March 2007, the winger signed a contract as a free agent with the Los Angeles Kings, for their farm team Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, he gave towards the end of the 2006/07 season his debut in professional hockey. In the following three seasons, he was also a regular for the Monarchs in the AHL, where he came in parallel in the 2008/ 09 season for the Los Angeles Kings in his first nine appearances in the National Hockey League. In the season 2010/11 the first time Canadians spent an entire season in the NHL and was preparing for the LA Kings in a total of 62 games five goals before. In the season 2011/12 he won with the Los Angeles Kings for the first time the Stanley Cup. In January 2013 Westgarth was transferred in exchange for Anthony Stewart, a fourth- round choice right in the NHL Entry Draft in 2013 and a sixth- round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2014 to the Carolina Hurricanes. On December 30, he was still exchanged in the same year against Greg Nemisz to the Calgary Flames.
