Kevyn Adams
Kevyn W. Adams ( born October 8, 1974 in Washington, DC ) is a retired American professional ice hockey center and current coach, who in the Toronto Maple Leafs, Columbus Blue Jackets, Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, Phoenix Coyotes and Chicago Blackhawks the National Hockey League has played.
Career
Kevyn Adams began his career in the ice hockey team of Miami University, where he from 1992 to 1996 in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association, a league game in the operation of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, played. During this time he was selected during the NHL Entry Draft in 1993 by the Boston Bruins in the first round than a total of 25 players for whom, however, he never ran aground. After a season with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the International Hockey League, for whom he made his debut in professional hockey, signed Adams in 1997 as a free agent contract in the National Hockey League with the Toronto Maple Leafs, for up to expansion he Draft played in 2000, when he was selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets newly established.
On 13 March 2001 Adams was given together with a fourth- round option for the NHL Entry Draft in 2001 in exchange for Ray Whitney to the Florida Panthers. His next change was made when he was transferred on 16 January 2002 along with Bret Hedican and Tomáš Malec in exchange for Sandis Ozoliòš and Byron Ritchie to the Carolina Hurricanes. For Carolina played the Center until 2007, where he bridged the time of the lockout in the 2004/ 05 NHL season in the German Ice Hockey League for the DEG Metro Stars. After his return to the Hurricanes, he won with his team in 2006 the prestigious Stanley Cup.
At the beginning of 2007, Adams was first released to the Phoenix Coyotes, the him in August of the same year, in turn, passed it in exchange for Radim Vrbata to the Chicago Blackhawks. Due to a knee injury Adams finally missed much of the season 2007/ 08 and was on 7 October 2008, released by his team, the Blackhawks.
From 2011 to 2013 Adams served as assistant coach with the Buffalo Sabres.
