Key-Thomas Märkl

Key Märkl Thomas ( born May 19, 1963) German - Japanese violinist.

Märkl was born into a musical family, his mother a Japanese pianist, his father a German violinist. His brother is the conductor Jun Märkl. At the age of five he began his violin studies, first with his father, then at Rami Shevelow at the Juilliard School in New York and received his Master of Music with Shmuel Ashkenazi, first violinist of the Vermeer Quartet at Northern Illinois University.

Since 1990 Märkl is a member of the Symphony Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of the Bavarian Radio. He is also active as a soloist and as a chamber musician in Germany and Europe.
