KF Skënderbeu Korçë

Klubi Futbollistik Skënderbeu Korçë is an Albanian football club based in Korçë, which formerly KS Skënderbeu Korçë called. The club was in season 2010/11 after 78 years again master of the first Albanian League, the Kategoria Superiore. The following year, the title could be won again.

Play their home games Skënderbeu Skënderbeu from the stadium, which has around 12,000 spectators for a fundamental renewal in the years 2009/10.

The club is named after the Albanian prince Scanderbeg.

History

The association founded in 1909, was one of the founding members in 1930 of the first Albanian League, with one runner-up was the same. 1933 scored the first win of the Albanian Cup.

Since 1976 Skënderbeu plays again top notch. But in recent years he could hardly ever more than one season in the Premier League keep: The association increased in 2006 from from the Kategoria Superiore, but returned after just one season back in the top flight. The 2008/09 season the club spent again in the second highest league. In the 2009/10 season the League receipt in the highest league succeeded. In the 2013/14 season succeeded Skenderbeu Korçë to advance as first Albanian team in the third round of Champions League qualification. 2013 Korçë won for the first time SuperKupa after this game was lost in the previous two years.
