KF Trepça

KF Trepça ( officially: Klubi Futbollistik Trepça Mitrovica, Serbian: Фудбалски клуб Трепча Митровица / Fubalski club Trepča Mitrovica ) is a football club based in Kosovska Mitrovica, in Kosovo. The club currently plays in the Raiffeisen Superliga, the highest Kosovar League, and was there in the 2009/10 season champion.

The Vereinist is not to be confused with the FK Trepča, the result of the consequences of the war in Kosovo, founded in 1999, the Kosovo Albanians the city its own association, the KF Trepça ( Albanian name for FK Trepča ). So there were two clubs in the city with virtually the same name.

Since its founding in 1999, the association had arrogated the right to represent the FK Trepča, but this was not recognized by UEFA and is rejected because, among other things, the FK Trepča still is an existing club and the Kosovar football from the football associations, UEFA and FIFA is not recognized. Despite this, the association represents the year 1932 as the founding date and continues to lead the club logo FK Trepča, he had to part of Yugoslavia, only in the Albanian spelling.

History

After the end of the Kosovo war in 1999, founded a group of Kosovo Albanians from the city of Kosovska Mitrovica, a club with the name KF Trepça. This association took over and annexed the club logo, club colors as well as the home ground of Yugoslav and Serbian clubs FK Trepča, which was founded in 1932.

Because there consequences of the war, the city of Kosovska Mitrovica is divided into a predominately Kosovo - Albanians and one Serb population of the city since 1999. Since the Trepča Stadium, the original home ground of FK Trepča, was now in a district dominated by Albanians, it was the Serbian team no longer possible or allowed, aground in the home stadium. The KF Trepça virtually annexed the stadium and eventually gave him an Albanian name.

The Trepča Stadium has since been referred from one part of the Albanian population as Stadiumi Olympik Adem Jashari, after Adem Jashari, a co-founder as well as temporary leader of the Albanian paramilitary rebel KLA, while still called by the remaining or non-Albanian population under his name is what it was known for decades.

The KF Trepça plays currently in the Axpo Super League, the highest Kosovar League, and was there in the 2009/10 season champion. There is a rivalry with city rivals KF Trepça'89 and FC Prishtina.

The championship competition or cup competition of Kosovo were the time of Yugoslavia, the competitions of Kosovo and Metohija, Serbian, a regional competitions in the league system of the former Yugoslavia. Since 1999 it is a contest of Axpo Super League and Cup of Kosovo
