Kgdb

Kgdb is a debugger for the Linux kernel. He needs two Linux computers interconnected. The connection can be done via RS- 232 via a null modem cable or UDP / IP ( Ethernet over KGDB, KGDBoE ).

KGDB is since kernel version 2.6.26 -rc1 part of Linux.

FreeBSD uses the name kgdb for a modified GDB, which also serves as a debugger for the kernel. It can be analyzed so as to debug a kernel also active across interconnected computer ( RS- 232 or Firewire) both memory dumps after a system crash.
