Khadzhimurad Magomedov

Chadschimurad Saigidmagomedowitsch Magomedov (Russian Хаджимурад Сайгидмагомедович Магомедов, scientific transliteration Chadžimurad Sajgidmagomedovič Magomedov, born February 24, 1974 in Makhachkala, Dagestan ) is a Russian wrestler. He was in Atlanta 1996 Olympic champion in free style at middleweight.

Career

Chadschimurad Magomedov began as a teenager in 1985 in Makhachkala with the rings. He was first a member of the sports club Spartak, then by Rossiya Makhachkala and finally SKA (Army Sports Club) Makhachkala. The coach, who mainly looked after him was Tscheralen Nussujew. He wrestled exclusively in free style and throughout his career at middleweight, where he weighed about 90 kg at a height of 1.78 meters and to the competitions abtrainierte the required kilos.

In the extremely tough competition in Russia, he was able to fight in 1996 at the top of the middleweights. His toughest rivals were doing Ruslan Katinowasow and Rustam Keleksajew. He lost against Magomed Ibragimov there only from Azerbaijan and occupied the same excellent 3rd place. How well he has been trained in his youth, he then pointed at his next international launch, the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. He won there over Alioune Diouf, Senegal, Ariel Wilson Ramos from Cuba, Amir Reza Khadem Azghadi from Iran and Yang Hyung -mo from South Korea and thus became Olympic champion.

In 1997 he became European champions in Warsaw, where he among other things, against Andre Backhaus from Germany and David Bichinaschwili from Ukraine, for Germany was launched later, won and asserted itself in the final against Nicolae Ghiţă from Romania. In the 1997 World Series victory in Krasnoyarsk him get over Ali Reza Keser from Turkey, Yang Hyung -Mo u Soslan Frajew, European champion in 1994. But in his fourth fight he lost to Magomed Ibragimov and could come up with a victory over Magomed Kuruglijew from Kazakhstan only as the possibility of a fight for the bronze medal against Yoel Romero Palacio from Cuba. As in the previous year, he lost again and was thus again only 4 winners.

In 1999 he scored at the World Championships in Ankara victory over his old rival David Bichinaschwili, Yang Hyung -mo and Leslie Gutches. But in the final he lost again against Yoel Romero Palacio and thus became vice - world champion.

In the Olympic year 2000, he was beaten each of Adam Saitijew in the Russian championship and the " Ivan Yarigin " tournament in Krasnoyarsk. He had to be used this year no chance at the European Championships and at the Olympic Games. But in 2001 he represented the injured Adam Saitijew who became Olympic champion in 2000, with great success at the World Championships in Sofia, because he was there in his fourth attempt, finally world champions. He then resigned and devoted himself to his coach training. He is now (2009 ) one of the coach of the Russian national team in free style wrestler.
