Khamoshi: The Musical

Khamoshi: The Musical (Hindi, literally: Silence: The Musical) is a Bollywood film released in 1996.

It is the directorial debut of Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Action

Annie ( Manisha Koirala ) lives with her deaf parents - Joseph and Flavy Braganza ( Nana Patekar, Seema Biswas ) - and her younger brother Sam in Goa. Annie's grandmother Maria ( Helen ) brings with her playing the piano, and the music fills the house. When the family goes to church one day, Sam falls down from the bell tower and dies. On the day Joseph loses his faith in God. He sold his suffering the piano, bringing silence in Annie's life. Years later, Annie meets a young composer Raj ( Salman Khan), through which it comes to the music closer again. Raj 's dream is to make Annie a singer, but her parents do not want to admit that the music comes back into her sorrowing house. In addition, they are afraid of losing Annie, because it is their only connection to the world of sounds. Annie also knows how helpless Joseph and Flavy without them, so the idea is to leave the house to run their own life unbearable for them. But the love of Raj and the music is stronger than any fears, and Annie prepares for her first concert. When Joseph and Flavy attend the concert, they discover for themselves the music they can not hear. As Raj asks Annie's hand, Joseph must first fight with him, but then he agrees. After the engagement Raj drives away, but promises to return as soon as possible. Annie waits for him, but the wait is too long, and she is scared that she will never see him again. When Joseph learns that his daughter is pregnant, he throws her out of the house. But then Raj returns and finally marries Annie. But Joseph will not forgive him his long absence. After the birth of a son Annie and Raj visit Annie's parents for the first time after the wedding. Joseph reconciles with Raj and gives a moving " speech " at the baptisms of his grandson.
