Khao Chaison District

Khao Chaison ( Thai: เขาชัยสน ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Phatthalung. The Phatthalung Province is located in southern Thailand, about 840 km south of Bangkok on the Malay Peninsula.

Geography

Neighboring districts and territories ( from the south clockwise): Amphoe Bang Kaeo which, Tamot, Kong Ra and Mueang Phatthalung Province Phatthalung and Amphoe Krasae Sin in the province of Songkhla.

The east of the circle lies on the shore of Lake Thale Luang.

History

Khao Chaison was first as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) Lampam ( ลำปำ ) was established in 1923 as part of Mueang Phatthalung. It consisted of the two communities Lampam and Han Po. On November 1, 1939, the municipalities Lampam, Phaya Khan and Khuan Maphrao were again directly subordinate to the Mueang district while Khao Khuan Chaison and were assigned to the sub-district of Mueang district Khanun as well as Thanon Tha Duea and Chong Pak Phayun. At the same time, the administration has also moved to Khao Chaison. In 1940, the sub-district, Khao Chaison was renamed after the central tambon. On January 1, 1953 Khao Chaison was promoted to Amphoe.

Management

Khao Chaison is divided into five subdistricts ( tambon), which continued in 56 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

Khao Chaison ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เขาชัยสน ) is also the name of a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district, it consists of parts of the tambon Khao Chaison.

There are also five " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
