Khao Chakan District

Amphoe Khao Chakan ( Thai: อำเภอ เขา ฉกรรจ์ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the west of the province of Sa Kaeo. The Sa Kaeo province is located in the eastern region of Thailand at the border to Cambodia.

Geography

Amphoe Khao Chakan is by following Amphoe limited ( seen from the north clockwise from ): Amphoe Mueang, the Sa Kaeo, Watthana Nakhon, Khlong Hat and Wang Nam Yen in the province of Sa Kaeo and Amphoe Tha Takiap in the province of Chachoengsao.

History

Khao Chakan was 30 April 1994 at first as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by four Tambon were separated from Amphoe Mueang Sa Kaeo. On October 11, 1997 Khao Chakan Amphoe got the full status.

Management

Amphoe Khao Chakan is divided into four communities ( tambon), which further into 62 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

Khao Chakan ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เขา ฉกรรจ์ ) is a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district, which covers parts of the tambon Khao Chakan.

There are also four " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
