Khao Chamao District

Amphoe Khao Chamao ( in Thai: อำเภอ เขา ชะ เมา ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the north- eastern province of Rayong. The Rayong province is located in the eastern region of central Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Bo Thong province of Chonburi, Amphoe Kaeng Hang Maeo Chantaburi province, as well as Amphoe Klaeng and Wang Chan Rayong province.

The National Park Khao Chamao - Khao Wong is partly in the county.

History

The sub-district ( King Amphoe ) Khao Chamao was separated in 1993 from Amphoe Klaeng. By a decision of the Thai government on May 15, 2007, all 81 King Amphoe were collected in the "normal" Amphoe status to simplify administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette " Issue 124 chapter 46" of 24 August 2007, this decision officially entered into force.

  • Khao Chamao - Khao Wong National Park - located both in the province of Rayong and Chanthaburi province with an area of 84 km ².

Management

The circle is divided into four subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 21 villages ( Muban ).

Amphoe Khao Chamao has no city - districts ( thesaban ), but there are four " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
