Khaplu

Khaplu or Khapalu is a neighborhood on the lower reaches of the Shyok place in Gilgit -Baltistan in Pakistan. It is the administrative headquarters of the Ghangche District, one of the two districts of Baltistan.

Khaplu was formerly seat of Rajas and controlled access to a plane passing through the Shyok valley side route of the Silk Road. At today's attractions include the Palace of the Raja, a fort dating from the 19th century and a mosque which, according to tradition dates back to the 14th century.
