ǁKhauxaǃnas

ǁ Khauxa! Nas [ Khi 1] is a historic, pre-colonial city of the Namibian tribe of the Nama from the 18th century, located in the Great Karas Mountains in Karasburg, southern Namibia.

ǁ Khauxa! Nas is Cape Town and the migration of the resident in the Cape Province Nama Klaas Africans was founded in the late 18th century as inaccessible mountain town in the wake of the establishment. After the northern migration of the Nama under Jonker Afrikaner in 1820 the fortress was ǁ Khauxa! Nas taken from the field shoe makers who also founded the adjacent settlement Schans Vlakte. Both were later abandoned. During the wars of German South-West Africa between 1904 and 1907 it served as a retreat items of the Nama James Morenga.

ǁ Khauxa! Nas is an important, often unexplored testimony of the culture and society in pre-colonial Southern Africa.
