The Khazar University ( Azerbaijani Xəzər Universitəsi; translated Caspian University, Khazar University English ) is a private, English-speaking university in the Azerbaijani capital Baku.

The university was founded in 1991 by Hamlet Isaxanli. She was the first private university in the states of the former Soviet Union. It offered bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs. At the Khazar University about 200 high school teachers are active, most of which have studied or taught in Europe and USA.

The University has six faculties:

English Language and Literature The focus is on language and communication skills, British and American literature, linguistics, interpreting and translation. In addition, there is the Dunya School, which consists of pre-, primary and middle school, and is connected with the Faculty of Education. Languages ​​of instruction are English and Azerbaijani.

The Khazar University has about 2,000 students, of which about 15 % are foreigners. In addition to the academic training students of Khazar University of music, dance, theater attend activities and participate in sport groups. The Khazar University is working in over 25 countries with more than 70 universities and research institutes. Since its inception, emphasis is placed on international partnership programs.
