Khedafi Djelkhir

Khedafi Djelkhir ( born October 26, 1983 in Besançon ) is a French boxer. He won the silver medal in the featherweight at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

Career

Amateur

Khedafi Djelkhir grew up in Besançon and began as a teenager in 1996 in Besancon Besancon Athletique ring with the boxes. His coach is there Nasri Quahib. He's left arm and punches at a size of 1.64 m in the featherweight (up to 57 kg body weight). In 2003 he reached the final of the French championship of amateur boxers for the first time. In this final he was defeated by the experienced Dangnoko Boubacar featherweight on points. In the French championship in 2004 he was able to return the favor in the final battle at Dangnoko Boubacar, because he won this finale by demolition in the 4th round, becoming the first French featherweight champion.

In the same year he surprised then the professional world when he fought as an internationally completely inexperienced boxers at the European Championships in Pula amateur featherweight up in the final and only lost there against Vitali Tajbert from Germany. He was thus qualified for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. He won his first fight there against Saifeddine Naumaoui from Tunisia by points ( 38:13 ), but met again in the second round to Vitali Tajbert, against whom he was defeated again by points ( 26:40 ). He got away with it on the 9th Place.

2005 Khedafi Djelkhir was once in a termination victory in the third round of Daouda Sow French featherweight champion. Then he won with two major international tournaments in the featherweight. When Feliks strain Memorial in Warsaw he defeated in the finals Sergei Kunitsyn from Ukraine on points and the chemistry Cup tournament in Halle (Saale ), he won in the finals over Marcel Herfurth from Germany on points. In the Mediterranean Games in 2005 in Almeria but he disappointed, because he lost in the quarterfinals against Aboubaker Seddik - Lbida from Morocco by KO in the 2nd round and got away with it only on the 5th Place. Also in the 2005 World Championships in Mianyang / China came for Khedafi Djelkhir the off after his first fight he sang against Mehravalla Lassi from Pakistan and unsung by points lost ( 12:38 ). A sense of achievement had Khedafi Djelkhir then again at the French Championships in 2006. He won with a points victory over Guillaume Freinos again the champion featherweight title. At Golden Belt Tournament 2006 in the Romanian Constanta he came to the final, where he lost to Koba Pschakadse from Georgia to points up. Less successful was he in the 2006 European Championship in Plovdiv, because after a bye in the first round he lost in the second round against Sahin Imranow from Azerbaijan and thus finished only 9th place.

The year 2007 opened Khedafi Djelkhir with the fourth title at the French Championship. In the final, he won it over Hicham Ziouti convincingly on points ( 43:15 ). He then won the box -Am Tournament in Vigo / Spain featherweight with a final victory over Hicham Ziouti ( 20:10). He also won the Chemistry Cup tournament in Halle, where he beat on points in the final battle Marcel Herfurth. After he won the competition at featherweight in the championship of the European Union in Dublin. He defeated while Marcel Meyerdiercks from Germany by termination in the 2nd round, Yakup Kilic of Turkey ( 32:6 ) and Carl Frampton from Ireland ( 37:27 ) he beat on points.

Based on these successes Khedafi Djelkhir drove very hoffnugnsvoll for World Cup 2007 to Chicago. There, however, came for him in his first fight that off, because he lost the American Raynell Williams on points ( 18:28) and thus failed to reach the round of 32 boxers. Together with the losers of its first round, he was ranked at 33rd place.

After winning his fifth French league title with a points victory over Hicham Ziouti ( 20:11 ) Khedafi Djelkhir succeeded in Pescara qualifying for the Olympics for the 2008 Games in Beijing. In Pescara, he defeated Alessio di Savina from Italy by points ( 22:12) and came to early victories over Theodoros Papasov, Greece, Stephen Smith from England and Sahin Imranow. He showed his good form then just before the Olympics in a country fighting against Cuba in Havana, when he defeated the Cuban champion Torri Idel duck on points.

At the Olympic Games in Beijing, he was in great shape. He suggested there Paul Fleming from Australia to points ( 13:9 ), then he succeeded against Raynell Williams of the United States, the revenge for the defeat in the World Cup 2007. He beat Williams just on points ( 9:7 ). There was a points victory over Arturo Santos Reyes of Mexico ( 14:9 ) and a bit happier task of defeating Imranow Sahin, who had been injured. In the final he was Wassyl Lomatschenko over from the Ukraine. Khedafi Djelkhir was hit hard by mehremale Lomatschenko already in the first round. He had to be one standing three times and was taken to the third stall count from combat. Winning the silver medal is the biggest success of his career but for.

Professional

2009 Djelkhir was professional. He won his first 14 fights, 10 of them by knockout. He won the French title in 2010 and 2012 the Wolrd Boxing Organization title Intercontinentel each featherweight.
