Khentetka

Chentetenka (also Chentetka read) is the name of an ancient Egyptian queen, who is regarded as the second wife of King (Pharaoh) Djedefre in the 4th dynasty during the Old Kingdom.

Identity

Chentetenka and wore royal titles such as " Royal Wife ", " companion of Horus" and "Priestess of Neith ". She is so far proved only by sculptural groups from the Pyramidennekrople of Djedefre in Abu Roasch. There it will be shown as a small, woman kneeling figure at the foot of Pharaoh, as she puts her right arm around the left leg of the King. Chentetenka may have had sons and daughters, but it is unknown who exactly were these and how many children she had borne. Even the tomb of Chentetenka is unknown, some Egyptologists and archaeologists suspect the satellite pyramid on the southwest corner of the Djedefre pyramid as their final resting place, but other researchers such as Rainer Stadelmann and Peter Janosi see in the small monument, a cult pyramid.
