Khong Chai District

Amphoe Khong Chai ( Thai: อำเภอ ฆ้องชัย ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the south of the province of Kalasin. The Kalasin Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

The neighboring districts are starting clockwise from the North: Amphoe Yang Talat, the, Mueang Kalasin and Kamalasai in the province of Kalasin, Amphoe Changhan the province of Roi Et, Maha Sarakham, and Amphoe Mueang Maha Sarakham province and Kantharawichai.

History

Khong Chai was created by being separated from Amphoe Kamalasai on 1 July 1997 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) ..

On 15 May 2007, the Thai government had decided that all 81 King Amphoe to rise in the simple Amphoe status to unify the administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette " Issue 124 chapter 46" of 24 August 2007, this decision officially entered into force.

Management

Amphoe Khong Chai is divided into five communities ( tambon), which in turn consist of 48 villages ( Muban ).

There is also a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Khong Chai Phatthana ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ฆ้องชัย พัฒนา ) consists of the whole tambon Khong Chai Phatthana.

There are also four " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
