Khoni

Honi (Georgian ხონი, χɔnɪ ) is a town in Imereti region in Georgia. Honi is a county seat of Munizipalitäts same name. It lies on the Imeretischen Plain, on both sides of the river Zcheniszqali.

In the Middle Ages Honi was an important place for trade and craft in Georgia. Here was also a cathedral and the city was a center of the diocese. The status of the town was Honi in 1921. 1936 bis 1989 the town was named Tsulukidze.
