Khosrow Shakibai

Khosro Shakībā'ī (Persian خسرو شکیبایی; born March 27, 1944 in Tehran, Iran, † July 18, 2008 ) was an Iranian actor. He has starred in numerous Iranian theater plays, movies and television series. Also known are his readings of poets such as Forough Farrokhzad and Sohrab Sepehri.

Life

Khosro Shakībā'ī studied acting at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Tehran University. After that he worked as a theater actor and began his film career in 1982 with the film Khatt -e ghermez ( The Red Line) by Masud Kimiai. In 1989 he won the Iranian Film Awards Crystal Phoenix ( Simurgh ) for his depictions in the film Hamun, which reached cult status soon. Other awards followed, among others, for his achievements in Kimia ( The Philosopher's Stone, 1995).
