Khueang Nai District

Amphoe Khueang Nai ( Thai: เขื่องใน ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the northwestern province of Ubon Ratchathani. The Ubon Ratchathani Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the Isaan.

Geography

Neighboring districts are ( from east clockwise): the Amphoe Muang Sam Sip, Mueang Ubon Ratchathani Ubon Ratchathani province, the Amphoe Kanthararom and Yang Chum Noi Province Sisaket, the Amphoe Kho Wang, Maha Chana Chai, Kham Khuean Kaeo Province Yasothon and Amphoe Hua Taphan Amnat Charoen Province.

History

The district was originally called Pachin Ubon ( ป จิ ม อุบล, West Ubon ), in 1913 it was renamed in Trakan Phuet Phon ( ตระการพืชผล ). In 1917 the name was changed again, this time in Khueang Nai.

Administrative units

Amphoe Khueang Nai ( tambon) divided into eighteen towns, which in turn in 180 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Khueang Nai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เขื่องใน ), consisting of the whole tambon Nai Khueang,
  • Ban Kok ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้าน กอก ), consisting of the whole tambon Ban Kok.

There are also 17 administrative organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
