The Kia Cadenza, referred to as Kia K7 in South Korea, is a sedan in the upper middle class and replaced from 2010 Opirus. He was presented on November 24, 2009 in Seoul, South Korea in 2010 and came into the trade. The new name is derived from the musical term Cadenza cadenza and results from the fact that Kia, as in the past changes with the start of a new decade, the model names. Cadenza was designed by the new Kia chief designer Peter Schreyer, who has previously worked for Audi.

Production began in November 2009 in Hwasung, South Korea, from March 2010, exports to South and Central America, Asia (excluding China ), Oceania, the Middle East and Africa. Since June 2010, the Cadenza is also offered in China. After Europe, the model is not for the time being.

The engine range of the front-wheel drive ranges from a 2-liter Theta II four-cylinder with 165 hp ( 121 kW ) up to a 3.5L Lambda II V6. The latter produces an output of 290 hp (213 kW) at 6600 / min and has a maximum torque of 338 Nm at 5000 / min. This level of performance of the engine is only available in Cadenza and will reach a higher speed to 400 rpm. The power is transmitted through a 6 -speed automatic with additional manual shift mode. This accelerates the Cadenza in 7.2 seconds from 0-100 km / h and reaches a top speed of 230 km / h The consumption is given as 9.36 liters per 100 km.
